A Review of Trader Joe’s Drinking Chocolate
In those days I have to use discretion when ordering from the cafe. My weight management program, fortunately, gives a brief Rundown their drinks and indicate the value, even though I could not find one for sipping hot chocolate. It does not matter anyway, because we recently found a less expensive, and no less rich alternative to the brand Trader Joe’s, sipping chocolate mixture. Last week we received your last newsletter by e-mail (if you do not get it, submit a Seinfeld-Esque J. Peterman ‘S catalog devoted to food), and the second we saw it, we had plans for the weekend.
One word of warning, I had difficulty myself to listen, given my skills in cooking Paranoid: to achieve optimal results, know-how to heat the milk. I a saucepan with 2% going while my husband chided me in the background. Do not turn it too high, you burn it! Scald It! WAAAH! My initial finished product – even three tablespoons of powder in thick 1 / 3 cup of milk has resulted in many small pieces. Milk is not warmed up enough, but at least I did not burn it entirely.
Taste? Very rich and smooth as soon as I got the correct sequence. For the unprepared, sipping chocolate is quite different from the hot cocoa – the ratio of the liquid chocolate is closer than you might expect with a packet of Swiss Miss, and it’s definitely something you can not swallow. Light sips, rolling dark chocolate on the tongue creates a pleasant experience – especially the installation of this cold weather.
If you do not have Trader Joe’s nearby, you can find comparable products, such as online Bellagio, although I have not tried other brands outside Chantico Starbuck. For all conscious, one serving of TJ with milk 2% per cent comes to 2 points diet exchange, and although it does not give a full cup will leave you completely satisfied. You can also milk in a glass of rich hot chocolate, which I will try in the near future.
