Modest moving side to a classic 1983 “Tender Mercies”, “Crazy Heart” is strictly adhered to the history of redemption impaired alcoholic.
This is a reflexive appreciation of critics favorite is actually more fireworks in one of America’s longest high office star, Jeff Bridges, as the command entry in the movie scene. Hollywood Politics can even move it to the Oscar. And it is inspiring opening for a reliable enough Maggie Gyllenhaal, as she convincingly sensual scenes requiring careful rendered sexuality.
Basically without suspense, the movie is a surprise only if it spilled key character is going through these tests on his physical and emotional existence. Urgency permit his professional career as a singer of the country and its fragile romance of a treatment, although it can not feel the lack of a clear history of AA flow anywhere. And make no mistake, the songs great.
I felt the invigorating energy swirling between the two leads in the powder-keg situations. Frankly, I did not feel overwhelmed by the overall movie itself. Sympathy for the little tragedies of a full-blooded, but irregularly.
He was once a legendary country singer, one of the best in the West, this 57-year-old Bud Blake. But now, when he wheels around the south-west in his Chevy Suburban, he was there, drunk, and beaten, according to his own songs: “I was once somebody, but now I’m somebody else.”
